2008
Educational Program
This year has shaped up to be the best
ever! In addition to our exceptional EMS educational program, we are
continuing to offer the fire track. Most of this year's classes also
offer nursing credits in addition to the EMS CEUs. Pre-conference
offerings include: ACLS Recertification on both
Wednesday and Thursday, PALS Recertification on both
Wednesday and Thursday, 12-Lead EKG,
Edutainment: Movie Magic, E-Learning for the EMS
Educator, GEMS, and PHTLS.
We have a great series of keynote
speakers headlined by Al Haynes, pilot of United
Flight 232 that crashed near Sioux City, Iowa, July 19, 1989, with
184 survivors. MCM has generously sponsored Mr. Haynes. Nadine
Levick, nationally recognized ambulance safety expert is
returning again this year. Also featured are Sheila Meshinski
with her child abuse presentation, How to Save the Concrete Angel;
Clarence Moore, with Motivation for Dummies, to
inspire you; and Robin Shively and Tony Sorensen
to update everyone on past and current activities, along with future
plans for Michigan EMS.
Brand new this year
are practical rotation stations. Each room will have 12 stations.
One room will be for medical and one room will be for trauma and
will offer credits in each of the credit categories. The stations
will be offered all day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. You can
obtain all of your required practical CE’s. The stations will be on
a first come, first serve basis, unless you want one of the reserved
places.
