THANK YOU for attending Michigan EMS EXPO 2008

Michigan EMS EXPO 2008 was another successful event and we hope those of you that attended enjoyed it and obtained your necessary EMS Credits.

We want to take this opportunity to thank each of you that attended.  We also want to thank all of the dedicated volunteers who committed their time.  It takes both, the attendees and the volunteers to make a successful EXPO.

Michigan EMS EXPO 2009, April 16-19, is already being planned.  If you or someone you know is interested in presenting a topic please use the link at the bottom of this page for the submission information.  Education coordinator, Steve Sherrard and the Education Committee presented an excellent program this year and 2009 will be even better.

The new Practical Rotation Stations were so well received this year that they will be continued next year.  Thanks to Doug Smith and Steve Sherrard for the many hours of logistical planning and thanks to Bill Justice and Doug Smith for proctoring the stations all 3 days.

The 3rd Annual Stars of Life Competition game was very exciting. With team names like We Make Drugs, Tiger Tails, 6 Guys Named Steve,  Body Snatchers, Allied NTC, 2 Red Heads + 1, Red Cross and …., the crowd couldn’t help but get more and more  involved routing for their favorite team and often giving too much help... Thanks to Bob Page for hosting the competition.  The Traveling Trophy was won by “Red Cross”, Joseph Keen, Kristopher Thompson and Matt Knudsvig.

Competition took center stage on Friday with some very unusual and exciting practical scenarios.  To those who watched the competition thanks for being there to support the competing teams.  The patients, all LCC students, had a great time acting out the scenarios dressing up with full make-up and props.   If you would like to be a part of this exciting competition in 2009, start your team practicing now so you can be on the winner’s page!
